A flourishing art industry was established in the city of Hebron during the Roman rule in Palestine. Traditionally, the glass was melted using local raw materials including sand from neighboring villages and sodium carbonate from the Dead Sea but nowadays recycled glass is often used instead.
These pieces have become a rare find as the region has drastically decreased its production ultimately making them a rare and collectible find.
